FUERTEVENTURAAfter an evening in Pasito Blanco with Siri & Trond we set out early in the morning and had some rough sailing getting to Morro Jable on the southern tip of Fuerteventura. The sun was bright in the blue cloudless sky but it was cold, the waves and wind hard to control and Siri was mostly lying horizontal with a bucket next to her. Heidi, who hardly ever gets seasick and already has 100 bruises from being knocked about, was in charge of feeding the crew and had an hourly rota where food and drinks could be ordered. After some strenous hours we finally reached Morro Jable after sunset and realized we had no more power supply and therefore no navigation lights for us, or for others to see us approaching. The solution was placing the waitress at the bow with a torch to lead the way. We couldn´t reach anyone at the marina so we avoided that part of the harbour and kept to the left where we docked at a jetty for the night. We damned the solar panels for the lack of power but having had time to relax, the mystery was solved. Someone had accidentally come near the battery charging switch and therefore... say no more! We spent an uneventful evening in Morro Jable and sneaked out early next morning. The weather was lovely being able to wear shorts and t-shirts, but that also meant little wind. After passing Punta del Matorral, the southernmost tip of Fuerteventura, we ended up criss-crossing all along the east coast. It seemed like forever and we never got any farther away from Faro de Morro Jable (lighthouse). We finally arrived at Gran Tarajal marina at around sunset. We spent an evening here before heading further north to Puerto del Rosario the next day. Sailing was good, the weather nice and warm and we arrived at Puerto del Rosario marina at sunset and enjoyed another evening there.
