DAY 8 - SAILING, ARRIVING PORTO SANTOThe 8th day started just after midnight with a bright moon and the stars leading the way. Close to eight hours later we were greeted with a beautiful sunrise and we could finally see the small island of Porto Santo and Madeira in the far distance. There was a slight breeze for both sails to help us along and the conditions were perfect to fly the drone to get some good shots. One does feel very alone and tiny on a sailboat in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean. We spent another boring day aboard with no idea how much fuel we had left after seven days at sea so we drifted slowly towards Porto Santo marina. We ended the day reaching the marina after sunset and tied up to a buoy just outside the breakwater awaiting permission to enter.
